Nursing staff must be adequately trained and oriented, aware of CAH nursing policies and procedures, supervised, and that their clinical activities are evaluated.

In-service training for nurse aides working at a long-term care facility must include dementia management training and resident abuse prevention training; address areas of weakness as determined in the performance reviews; and address care of the cognitively impaired as appropriate.

A person who is enrolled in a training program required for certification as a nursing assistant or awaiting the results of a certification examination.

Continuing education specifically related to dementia for persons employed by a facility which provides care to persons with any form of dementia.
